How It Works

1. Share Your Event Details
Contact me with your event date, location, and overall vision or goal. Fully formed plans are welcome, but so are early-stage or “half-baked” ideas. I’m happy to send suggestions via email or schedule a brainstorm call. It’s most helpful to know your expected guest count and event date. I recommend reaching out early as popular dates book up quickly!

2. Planning & Item Selection
I confirm availability, collaborate with you on creative direction, and recommend personalization ideas that align with your brand or event experience. Together, we determine which items will be personalized what method would be most appropriate for your items. I’ll send you a proposal with event details, contract, and link to pay a 25% deposit. After that, your date is held in my schedule!

3. On-Site Setup
I arrive on site with all necessary calligraphy, lettering, or engraving tools and supplies to ensure a smooth, professional setup and seamless guest experience. You provide a table and chair at the event location, along with any items to be personalized. I provide a post-event report to help you calculate ROI and volume served.

“Live calligraphy was an important part of our event, allowing us to personalize gifts for each guest. Every element of the experience was designed to feel special, personal, and unique. Without the calligraphy, the gifts could have felt generic and meant for anyone.”

Traditional Calligraphy on Cards at Louis Vuitton

Louis Vuitton at Plaza Frontenac in St. Louis has welcomed me as an on-site calligrapher for some of the year's most important gifting moments, including Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, and Father's Day. Guests purchasing a gift (for a loved one or themselves!) had their cards and envelopes hand-lettered in traditional calligraphy with ink custom-matched to Louis Vuitton's printed stationery, ensuring every detail of the finished piece felt cohesive and intentional.

The value of live calligraphy in a luxury retail setting like this one is about more than aesthetics. A hand-lettered card signals that a gift was chosen with care and finished with the same level of attention as the item itself. The personalized calligraphy reflects on a brand built on craftsmanship and quality. Calligraphy transforms the card from an afterthought into part of the gift, and gives the recipient something deeply personal alongside one of the world's most recognizable luxury products.

This is a long-standing partnership, with Louis Vuitton bringing me back season after season since 2021, a testament to how consistently live calligraphy delivers for their guests and their gifting experience.

If you're a luxury retailer or brand planning a seasonal event in St. Louis and want to offer guests a personalized finishing touch that matches the quality of your product, traditional ink calligraphy is a natural extension of the experience you're already creating.

Personalizing Bags at lululemon

Lululemon brought me in as an on-site calligrapher for a private event with local health and wellness professionals at their Maryland Plaza store in St. Louis, MO. I used oil-based markers to hand-letter each guest's name on lululemon's branded shopping bags. This activation created a personalized take-home that made the giveaway feel intentional and special.

This type of live calligraphy retail activation is ideal for brands looking to add a custom, experiential element to in-store events, VIP nights, or influencer gatherings. It requires minimal setup, fits within an existing event footprint, and produces a tangible, shareable result for every guest. If you're planning a retail pop-up or brand activation in St. Louis, live on-site lettering is one of the most effective ways to make a lasting impression.

Hot Foiling on Cosmetic Bags at Kendra Scott

Kendra Scott in Plaza Frontenac in St. Louis brought me in as an on-site hot foil artist for a Galentine's Day activation, offering customers a complimentary personalized cosmetic bag or luggage tag with purchase. Guests chose from a name, monogram, or initials, and each piece was finished on the spot with a hot foil impression that required no dry time and was ready to take home immediately.

The gift-with-purchase format is a proven retail sales driver, and personalization makes it significantly more effective. A cosmetic bag or luggage tag is already a useful, desirable item. Offering guests the chance to customize it with their own name or initials elevates it from a promotional giveaway to something they'll use and keep. That perceived value increase translates directly into purchase motivation at the point of sale.

Hot foiling is particularly well-suited to this kind of retail activation. The process is fast, clean, and produces a polished luxury finish on fabric and faux leather that looks far more elevated than it is logistically complex. There is no ink, no dry time, and no mess, making it easy to run smoothly in a busy retail environment without disrupting the store experience.

If you're a retailer or brand looking to add a personalized gift-with-purchase element to a seasonal event or store promotion in St. Louis, hot foil personalization is one of the most efficient and visually impressive options available.

Engraving Fragrance Bottles at Macy’s

Macy's at West County Center in St. Louis has brought me in multiple times as an on-site engraving artist during peak gifting seasons, including Mother's Day and the winter holidays. Shoppers who purchased a fragrance received complimentary live hand engraving on the spot, turning a standard gift purchase into a personalized keepsake ready to take home the same day.

The strategy is straightforward and effective: complimentary engraving gives shoppers a compelling reason to buy a fragrance in-store rather than online, and to choose a higher-consideration gift over a simpler alternative. A bottle of perfume is already a thoughtful gift. A bottle of perfume with someone's name hand-engraved on it is a genuinely memorable one. Because the offer applies across fragrance brands, it functions as a store-wide sales driver rather than a single-brand promotion. Each engraving takes around five minutes, a window that naturally extends time on the floor and creates opportunity for additional purchases.

If you're a retailer or brand planning a seasonal gifting event or holiday pop-up in St. Louis and want a personalization experience that directly supports sales, on-site fragrance engraving is one of the most effective and lowest-effort activations you can offer.

Personalizing Shoes with Famous Footwear

Famous Footwear partnered with St. Louis Moms, a local influencer collaborative, to create a back-to-school activation that gave customers something no e-commerce experience can replicate: a one-of-a-kind pair of shoes, personalized on the spot. As the on-site artist, I worked directly with guests as they chose their own colors, lettering styles, and illustrations, turning a standard shoe purchase into a fully custom keepsake.

This kind of live art activation is a natural fit for retail events targeting families and younger audiences. Kids got to watch their shoes come to life in real time, parents got a shareable moment worth posting, and Famous Footwear got user-generated content and in-store foot traffic at one of the most competitive shopping moments of the year. The influencer partnership amplified the reach even further, with the event documented across social channels and reaching well beyond the guests who attended in person.

If you're planning a retail event, brand collaboration, or social campaign in St. Louis that calls for something beyond a standard giveaway, on-site illustration and lettering is a high-engagement option that works for nearly any age group or aesthetic. The result is a personalized product your customers are excited to show off.

Calligraphy on Mother’s Day Cards with Veuve Clicquot

Veuve Clicquot, in partnership with local St. Louis event planner Viviant Events, hosted a Mother's Day champagne event at The Wine and Cheese Place, one of St. Louis's most beloved specialty wine and spirits retailers. Guests who purchased a bottle of Veuve Clicquot received a complimentary custom calligraphy notecard and personalized envelope, hand-lettered on the spot by a live calligrapher with a message for the mom, wife, or special woman in their life.

The concept was simple and effective: live calligraphy added genuine value to the purchase without requiring a complex setup or a large footprint. The personalized card and envelope served a dual purpose, incentivizing guests to buy a bottle while also completing their gift in one stop. Rather than leaving the store and hunting down a card separately, guests walked out with a champagne bottle and a hand-lettered keepsake worth giving. That kind of frictionless gifting moment is exactly what luxury brand activations and hospitality events should feel like.

This St. Louis calligraphy event is a strong example of how on-site lettering can be used strategically at retail and hospitality activations, not just as a decorative element, but as a tool that directly supports purchase behavior and guest experience. If you're planning a product launch, tasting event, holiday pop-up, or seasonal retail promotion in St. Louis and want to add a personalized touch that moves the needle, live calligraphy is a natural fit.
